Dan O’Neil is a dedicated and experienced professional overseeing Security and Compliance operations for the Massachusetts Lottery. With a keen focus on protecting the privacy and security of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) and Mass Lottery drawing data, Dan is responsible for managing the security and compliance staff, writing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that all Lottery employees and facilities adhere to the highest standards of security and integrity. As a liaison to MUSL, he plays a crucial role in coordinating between various stakeholders to maintain robust security measures and compliance with industry regulations.
In his multifaceted role, Dan also oversees the Security & Compliance Department's financial requirements, manages the detection and observation of illegal activities within Lottery Regional Offices and licensed Lottery agents, and supports the annual audit plan. He acts as a vital link between the Lottery and law enforcement agencies, ensuring effective communication and coordination in cases of illegal activity. He also plays a pivotal role in the construction and maintenance of Lottery sites, investigating security breaches, and providing first responder services during emergencies.
