AUSTIN (March 20, 2025) – The Texas Lottery Commission has been recognized as one of the best places to work in the nation, earning a 2025 Top Workplaces USA award. Announced by USA TODAY on Thursday, March 20, the award is based on an anonymous survey that was completed by agency staff and conducted by Energage, a leading employee engagement technology organization.

“Our agency is honored to be recognized on a national level as a Top Workplace,” said Ryan Mindell, executive director of the Texas Lottery Commission. “The positive impact we have on public education, veterans and charitable causes is driven by the dedication, creativity and passion of our remarkable employees. Day after day they bring both their expertise and their heart to our mission. This national distinction truly belongs to our entire team and reflects the collaborative, people-focused culture we work so hard to foster.”

The latest national accolade comes just months after the Texas Lottery Commission was named to the 2024 Greater Austin Top Workplaces list in November 2024 by the Austin American-Statesman. With its first regional honor in 2022, the agency has earned three Top Workplaces awards over the last three award cycles.

Top Workplaces USA, which has a 15-year history of surveying more than 20 million employees, celebrates organizations with 150 or more employees that have built great cultures. This year, over 42,000 organizations were invited to participate, and winners were chosen based solely on employee feedback gathered through an employee engagement survey, issued by Energage. Results were calculated by comparing the survey’s research-based statements, including 15 Culture Drivers that are proven to predict high performance against industry benchmarks.

“Our agency is honored to be recognized on a national level as a Top Workplace. The positive impact we have on public education, veterans and charitable causes is driven by the dedication, creativity and passion of our remarkable employees. Day after day they bring both their expertise and their heart to our mission."

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
