WINNIPEG, Manitoba (December 5, 2024) – The Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) is thrilled to announce its move to a new head office location at True North Square, effective Monday, December 9. This relocation represents an exciting milestone as WCLC continues its decades-long commitment to providing outstanding lottery services across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.
Starting Monday, WCLC’s Prize Office will be among the first teams to call True North Square home. Prize staff will welcome Manitoba lottery winners to claim prizes of $1,000 or more by appointment. In January, additional departments will complete their move to the new office space.
Situated on the third floor of the Hargrave Tower at 242 Hargrave Street, the new office provides a modern, flexible environment for WCLC’s dedicated team. The Winnipeg head office, home to approximately 200 employees, serves as the hub of operations for managing lottery games across the Prairies and the North. Many employees will continue to work in a hybrid model, balancing in-office collaboration with remote work.
“Our new head office will foster a space where our teams can connect, collaborate and continue to deliver outstanding service to our valued players and stakeholders, while reinforcing our commitment to the community we’ve proudly been part of for five decades.”
WCLC has been a proud fixture in Winnipeg’s downtown throughout its history, transitioning first from One Lakeview Square to its long-standing home at 125 Garry Street, and now to 242 Hargrave Street in True North Square.
This move, occurring during WCLC’s 50th anniversary year, highlights its long history as a fundraiser for priority programs and services throughout the Western provinces and the North.
“We’re excited to begin this next chapter in our organization’s story,” said Paul Erickson, President and CEO. “Our new head office will foster a space where our teams can connect, collaborate and continue to deliver outstanding service to our valued players and stakeholders, while reinforcing our commitment to the community we’ve proudly been part of for five decades.”
True North Square offers a welcoming, accessible destination for visitors and employees alike, with modern amenities, convenient parking, and easy access to transit and local businesses.
“True North is pleased to welcome Western Canada Lottery Corporation and their 200 head office employees to True North Square,” said Jim Ludlow, True North Real Estate Development President. “This is an exciting move to celebrate their 50th anniversary, and we congratulate them on this milestone and on the impacts they’ve had in our community. As long-time downtown neighbours, we applaud Western Canada Lottery Corporation’s commitment to our city centre.”
Land Acknowledgment: We acknowledge and celebrate that WCLC’s head office is located in Treaty 1 Territory, the traditional territories of Anishinaabe, Cree, Lakota and Dakota peoples, and the heartland of the Métis people. We are grateful for the opportunity to be and work on this land.
